Go Thap (Gò Tháp) festival is a great festival of inhabitants in Dong Thap Muoi (Đồng Tháp Mười). The festival is organized twice a year, in lunar March and November. Since the afternoon of 14th until the morning of March 16th, it is the commemoration of the Region Goddess who, according to the legend, has merit to discover, build and develop this region. Since the afternoon of 14th until the morning of November 16th, it is the commemoration of two people's heroes Thien Ho Duong (Võ Duy Dương) and Doc Binh Kieu (Nguyễn Tấn Kiều), leaders of the militant insurrectionists against the French colonizers in the second half of the 19th century.

Go Thap (Gò Tháp) festival is made up from two respective parts: ceremony and festival. In addition to principal ceremonies like the offerings oblation to the Region Goddess, to Thien Ho Duong, Doc Binh Kieu, there are also other ceremonies like the worshipping divinities, agriculture god... Each ceremony has a different rite but always with a ritual invocation interpreted by the master of ceremony in parallel with the melodious ritual music, the offer tea, wine and incense. The content of the invocation text is to praise the merits of ancestors or to pray the sky and the earth to grant a peaceful life, good harvests... In the festival, artistic activities, folk games and cultural events abundant allow participants to temporarily forget the real life and think together of the crowned.
